A 27B-Parameter AI Model Can Now Run Locally on an iPhone, Android, or Mac.

RunAnywhere has added PrismML's Bonsai model family to its mobile and desktop apps, including a 27 billion-parameter 1-bit model that fits in about 3.9 GB. The company says Bonsai retains roughly 90% of full-precision quality and includes a thinking mode, with model sizes from 1.7B through 27B available in 1-bit and 2-bit ternary variants. On iPhone and Mac, the models run through MLX or llama.cpp, while Android support includes RunAnywhere's QHexRT runtime for Qualcomm Hexagon NPUs.
