Lenovo’s AI Student Phone Skips Games and Social Media on Purpose.
Lenovo launched the AI Student Phone in China, priced around 299 yuan, and it is built around subtraction instead of features. There are no games, no browser, and no social media apps. Instead, a dedicated AI button lets kids ask questions and get homework help using voice, without needing to open a single app. Parents get strong controls too, including scheduled on and off times, blocking unknown callers, a classroom mode that limits the screen to just time and emergency SOS, spending limits on mobile payments, and GPS location tracking.
📌 Removing games, browsers, and social apps entirely is a much stronger stance than typical parental control software layered on top of a normal phone.
⚡ The AI button turns the phone into a homework helper first, so kids still get useful support without needing app access.

Gemini Spark Comes to macOS With a Wave of New Connected Apps.
Google is bringing Gemini Spark to the Gemini app for macOS, letting the agent access desktop files and run tasks in the background on your Mac. The rollout is in beta for Google AI Ultra subscribers aged 18 and over in the US, with support for custom Model Context Protocol coming soon so people can wire in their own favorite apps. On web and mobile, Spark is also picking up new integrations with Canva, Dropbox, Instacart, OpenTable, and Zillow Rentals, plus connections to Google Tasks and Google Keep that turn scattered notes into actual to-do items. Real-time tracking for sports, stocks, and news rounds out the update, so Spark can proactively surface information instead of waiting to be asked.
📌 macOS support means Spark can now act on local files and desktop apps directly, not just chat about them.
⚡ Custom MCP support is the bigger long-term move, since it opens the door for people to connect almost any service into Spark.
🔭 Turning Keep notes into Tasks items is a small feature that quietly closes a gap a lot of people have complained about for years.

PageAgent Turns Any Web App Into a Natural Language Interface.
Alibaba open sourced PageAgent, a JavaScript agent that lives directly inside a web page instead of controlling a browser from the outside. Add one script tag and users can type or speak commands like click login, fill in my details, submit the form, and PageAgent handles the interface directly. It works with any LLM including Qwen, GPT, and Claude, supports voice commands and accessibility features, and even ships a Chrome extension for tasks that span multiple pages. Because there is no need for a browser extension, Python, or a headless browser, it is unusually easy to bolt onto an existing product.
📌 Running inside the page itself, rather than driving a separate automated browser, keeps everything fast and native to the app.
⚡ Being model agnostic means teams are not locked into one AI provider just to get natural language control of their interface.
🔭 One script tag integration is a low enough barrier that a lot of existing web products could realistically try this in a weekend.

🎬 HIGGSFIELD · SHORTS STUDIO · GEMINI OMNI FLASH

Shorts Studio Auto Edits Your Videos for Maximum Watch Time.
Higgsfield launched Shorts Studio, a tool powered by Google’s Gemini Omni Flash that automatically adapts any video clip into short-form content built for TikTok, Reels, and YouTube Shorts. Instead of manually cutting for pacing, the tool focuses on grabbing attention from the very first second and shaping the edit around what tends to keep people watching. It is aimed squarely at creators who need to turn longer footage into multiple platform-ready clips quickly, without hiring an editor for every version.
📌 Optimizing specifically for the first second matters because that is where most short-form videos win or lose the viewer.
⚡ Using Gemini Omni Flash under the hood ties this directly to Google’s newer video generation and editing capabilities.
🔭 Tools like this push short-form content creation closer to a repeatable pipeline instead of a manual, one-off editing job.
