🧠 AGNES 2.5 PRO · SINGAPORE · FREE API
A Singapore-Built Coding Model Is Posting Frontier-Level Numbers, for Free.
Agnes 2.5 Pro AI coding model benchmark results and free API announcement
Agnes 2.5 Pro is a new model from Singapore claiming 82.7 on SWE-bench Verified and 78.7 on multilingual tasks, with strong results on SWE Atlas. The team says it outperforms GLM 5.2 and DeepSeek V4 Pro on several evaluations, and the API is free and OpenAI-compatible. Treat the benchmark claims as self-reported until independent testing catches up, but the release is still worth watching.

📌 The free API makes it easy for developers to test the claims themselves.

🌐 HERMES · BROWSER EXTENSION · OPEN SOURCE
Hermes Can Now See What You Are Browsing.
Hermes Browser Extension running as an AI assistant sidebar in a Chromium browser
The open-source Hermes Browser Extension adds the Hermes AI agent as a side panel in Chromium browsers including Chrome, Edge, and Brave. It reads context from your active tab so you can ask Hermes to summarize a page, explain something, or pull out action items without copying text into another app. It works with a local gateway, Hermes Cloud, or a self-hosted remote gateway, and connects to the full Hermes runtime for tools, skills, memory, and sessions.
📌 Active-tab context makes it much more useful than a generic chat sidebar.
⚡ Local and self-hosted gateway options give users more control over privacy.

⚙️ VIMAG LABS · INDIA · EV HARDWARE
An Indian Startup Just Patented an EV Motor Without Rare Earth Magnets.
Vimag Labs Virtual Magnet Synchronous Motor (VMSM) rare-earth-free EV motor technology
Bengaluru startup Vimag Labs secured an Indian patent for its Virtual Magnet Synchronous Motor, a software-defined motor platform that replaces conventional rare-earth permanent magnets with electronically controlled magnetic fields. That matters because China dominates rare-earth refining and permanent magnet production, creating a major supply-chain bottleneck for EV makers. Vimag says it has logged 87,600 engineering hours, started pilots with two-wheeler and passenger vehicle manufacturers, and signed a manufacturing agreement with Jendamark.
📌 Avoiding rare-earth magnets could reduce EV exposure to one concentrated supply chain.
⚡ The key test now is whether the platform can meet automotive performance and cost targets at scale.

🚀 REVENUECAT · SHIPATON 2026 · APP BUILDING
Shipaton Is Back, With 2 Months to Build and $700k+ Up for Grabs.
RevenueCat Shipaton 2026 hackathon with over $700,000 in prizes
RevenueCat's Shipaton returns from August 1 to September 30, 2026, challenging developers to launch new apps across 14 categories. This year's event offers more than 700,000 dollars in prizes, with 490,000 dollars listed as public cash awards, plus giant Times Square billboard placements for winning apps. To qualify, participants need to ship a new iOS, Android, or Mac app and integrate RevenueCat for at least one in-app or web purchase.
📌 Two months is enough to ship something real, but short enough to force focus.
⚡ Times Square exposure is a bigger prize than cash for many early-stage app builders.
